Two men attack passers-by outside Gosport Wetherspoons

Police are investigating reports that two men assaulted people in Gosport High Street yesterday, immediately after leaving The Star pub.

Eyewitness reports claim they left the Wetherspoons pub after brandishing a chair at staff members.

It is then believed that they attacked passers-by in the street.

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘We were called shortly after 7pm last night to reports that two men had tried to assault people in the street on Gosport High Street, however we have not received any formal complaints from anyone who may have been assaulted.’

Police say they have very few details at the moment, and so are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hampshire Constabulary on 101, quoting the crime reference number 44200269338.
