Two people charged after man is stabbed in face, leg and head during garden attack in Paulsgrove

DETECTIVES have charged two people after a man was stabbed in the leg, head and face during a bloody knife attack in a garden.

The assault took place in Tunstall Road at 8.20am on Saturday.

Police initially arrived at the scene following reports of a stolen vehicle.

However, when officers turned up, they found a man with serious stab wounds across his body.

The victim – who has not been identified – was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition, police said.

This morning Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that Lee Robert Bennyworth, 38, of Leominster Road in Paulsgrove, and Tammy Louise Hunt, 43, of Tunstall Road, Paulsgrove, have been charged and remanded with grievous bodily harm with intent.

They are due to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court today.

Two other women were also arrested over the weekend in connection to this incident. A 42-year-old woman from Portsmouth, who has been released on police bail, and a 37-year-old woman who has been released from custody with no further action.
