He was subsequently charged with being drunk and disorderly in a public place and two counts of assaulting a police constable.

Jackman will now appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on November 24.

Police, in a tweet on the night of the incident, said: ‘We've attended a report of a drunk male in the city centre.

‘He became confrontational and was arrested for being drunk and disorderly. He then went on to spit in the face of two officers. Which he was further arrested for.’
