Woman '˜kicked and stamped' on man in football boots

A WOMAN kicked and stamped on a man while she was wearing football boots.

Nicola Newman, 37, of Victoria Road North, Southsea, was jailed for 16 weeks.

She was found guilty of assault by beating against Anthony Scott in Livingstone Road, Southsea, on March 4.

Portsmouth magistrates jailed her as she was wearing football boots and kicked and stamped on him repeatedly when he was on the floor.

Magistrates also said the injuries were serious in the context of similar charges.

Newman must pay an £80 victim surcharge.

She admitted two counts of failing to surrender to custody on May 3 and May 27 and was given a one-week concurrent sentence for each.

Her plea was taken into account during sentencing.
