Woman who bit police officer avoids jail

A WOMAN who bit a police officer has avoided jail.

Georgina Miron, 21, of Spinnaker Drive, Portsmouth, carried out a sustained assault using her teeth on the officer.

Magistrates said she had previous like offences and had been drinking.

Miron admitted assaulting the officer on May 9.

Portsmouth magistrates imposed an 18-week sentence suspended for a year.

Her plea was taken into account when she was sentenced. A second count of assault was dismissed.
