PORTSMOUTH residents have been safely celebrating the 75th anniversary of VE Day.

The coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown has meant that plans for street parties had to be changed or postponed.

But despite the situation, our city has still managed to find safe ways to celebrate VE Day – either with stay-at-home parties or social distancing street parties.
