It is official legal tender, which means that you can actually spend the 50p piece in stores.

Launched by The Koin Club, a Dorset based commemorative coin producer, the War Poppy coin goes on sale today for 50p plus postage and packaging.

Ross Davies, Managing Director of The Koin Club, said: ‘We are delighted to be releasing the first-ever legal tender War Poppy Collection which features Jacqueline Hurley’s original paintings on legal tender coins.’

‘The coin really is a poignant tribute to our armed forces and we hope to continue raising money and supporting the charity Combat Stress for many years to come.’

Since 2016, the War Poppy Collections have helped raise over £100,000 for Combat Stress.
