At 11am a wreath was placed at the Falkland Islands memorial stone in recognition of Armistice Day and a short service took place for former naval service personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice during the First and Second World Wars.
Royal Navy comrades who had passed away in the last 12 months were also remembered at the event.

Due to Covid restrictions the base could not host its usual ceremony, but to allow everyone to pay their respects the service and two minutes silence was broadcast across the site.
Taking part in the service was Commanding Officer Captain Catherine Jordan who commented: ‘Taking the time to conduct this Act of Remembrance is vitally important, both as a poignant reminder of the sacrifice of those who have fallen in service to our country, but also of the pledges we make to defend our country now and in the future.
‘Military people still give their lives today to protect the nation's tomorrow.’
