Royal Navy confirms outbreak of Covid-19 at HMS Raleigh

A NUMBER of personnel at a naval training institution are self-isolation after testing positive for coronavirus.

The Royal Navy confirmed an outbreak has hit HMS Raleigh but refused to say how many cases it involved.

The military hub is based in Plymouth and trains hundreds of new sailors every year, with many starting their naval career in the Portsmouth area.

A naval spokesman said personnel affected were now are ‘under medical supervision’, and added: ‘Personnel identified as having been in contact with those who have tested positive are isolating in line with Public Health England guidance.’
