The Dickens Christmas Festival will return to Portsmouth this weekend.

When is it and where is it? 

The Dickens Christmas Festival, previously known as the Festival of Christmas, will be held at the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth.

It will take place between Friday, November 30 and Sunday, December 2.

What times will it be open? 

The market will be open between 10am and 6pm on each of the three days. (November 30 to December 2). 

What is it? 

It will celebrate all things Dickens - in the city where the famous Victorian author was born. 

What type of stalls and attractions will it have? 

The Dickens Christmas Festival will have authentic decorations and snow-covered cobbles.

There will be more than 100 Christmas stalls - selling artisan bakes and cakes, vintage clothes and homemade crafts, among other things. 

There will be a Curiosity Shop, Fagin's Tavern and Dickens street performers and once you've worked up a thirst you can enjoy a tipple in the Gin & Prosecco Parlour. 

Will Santa Claus be there?

Yep! Dickens Christmas Festival will have Father Christmas'¦Â dressed in a traditional green coat. 

Do I need tickets? 

If you want to attend the Dickens Christmas Festival at the Historic Dockyard you will need tickets. 

The event is not included in a full navy ticket and needs to be bought separately.
