Disruption clears after person killed after being hit by train on London Waterloo to Portsmouth lineÂ


The incident happened at Mortlake station this morning and was causing delays to and from London Waterloo throughout much of the day.Â
British Transport Police have confirmed that the person died.Â

Hide AdIn a statement they said: '˜Shortly after 10am today, officers were called to Mortlake station, after reports of a person being struck by a train.Â


'˜Officers are currently on scene alongside paramedics, however a person has sadly been pronounced dead. Work is now being made to identify the person and inform their family.Â
'˜This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.'Â
National Rail warned commuters that services would be disrupted well into the evening.Â

Hide AdSouth Western Railway have now confirmed that the disruption has cleared.Â
The rail franchise tweeted: '˜Disruption caused by emergency services dealing with an incident between Clapham Junction and Feltham has now ended. Services are no longer affected by this problem.'Â
