Denyse King, event director, said it was exciting to be marking the special date.

‘When the kids are running, they have the biggest smiles on their faces which is lovely to see,’ she said.

‘The children love taking part and they like when we do the fancy dress runs. These events are so popular so it was great for us to get to the one-year anniversary.’

Andrea Wright, healthy weight leader, added: ‘Any child can take part in the event which is fantastic.’

The run is every Sunday at 10am.
