Motor cruiser with man and woman aboard catches fire while in the Solent - lifeboat deployed

The blaze broke out on a 35 foot motor cruiser this morning. Lifeboat crews, deployed from Cowes, Isle of Wight, were alerted at 10.35am.
The RNLI said: “The alarm was raised when the craft was south of East Bramble Bouy. When the lifeboat arrived on the scene they found that the fire, believed to be of electrical origin, had already been extinguished by the crew, using two on-board extinguishers.

Hide Ad“Lifeboat crew members went aboard to carry out their own check. With engine out of use, the cruiser, which was based in Langstone Harbour, was then taken in tow by the lifeboat to Trinity Landing, Cowes; there it was met by Island firemen and Needles coastguards.”
The lifeboat crew returned to the station an hour later.
