She was into motorbikes and had bought a Harley Davidson two days before she died while riding along The Avenue, in Fareham.

Maddy, from Southsea, said: ‘Julie was bike mad and loved riding her motorbike.

‘Her dream was to go to Route 66 in the USA and ride along there.

‘As she never got to ride out her dream, we would like to raise some money for her family to take her ashes to Route 66.

‘It means she can really ride in peace for eternity.

‘We want to help her family get there to scatter her ashes.’

She added that some of the money will also go towards a memorial garden.

‘Julie’s family also want to make a memorial garden in Julie’s mother’s garden,’ she said. ‘It will give the family somewhere to go where they can feel close to her.

‘We would be forever grateful if people could donate even a few pounds.

‘Whenever we have needed this inspiring family they have been right there, for anyone, any time, anywhere and we would love to do something for them.’

The target on their fundraising page is set at £5,000. So far, £200 has been raised.

The money will enable Mrs Corben’s daughters Jodie and Jade as well as her son Nic and granddaughter Maisie make the trip.

Maddy said that the family had been hit with financial hardship after the funeral costs and solicitors’ fees around Mrs Corben’s static caravan.

She said due to these costs, the family cannot afford the trip to America.
