Crew manager Paul Cambell said: ‘It’s not just the money but the effort and the passion that they’ve put into it. It has been only right to say thanks to them for their hard work.’

The Co-operative’s community pioneer Michelle Taylor said: ‘We’ve had a few raffles and Theresa, who suffers from MS, has been sat outside the shop with the collection pots. Firefighters do a lot of things for the community and I don’t think people realise how much they do.’
