Gosport hip-hop school scoop national award

The Dirty Knees Crew from Sychronize Hip Hop School in Gosport, came first place in the Best Under 12s team at the 101 Events UK Street Dance Championships.

Pupils of Synchronize Hip-Hop School, in Gosport, came first in the Best Under-12s Team category at the 101 Events UK Street Dance Championships in Glasgow, leaving their choreographer Chris Todd filled with pride.

The crew, which practises in Thorngate Halls, also showed their class on a world level, by coming fourth in a world competition.

Chris, 30, a former professional dancer who has performed in the West End, said: ‘These guys are all really committed and have a great understanding with one another.

‘At a competition it is scary because I have to let go but they always come through.

‘As long as they give it 100 per cent, that’s all that matters.

‘I didn’t think they were going to win it but once we saw the other crews, I knew we would do really well.’
