Havant and district quiz champions celebrate victory

The champions of Havant and district quiz league were West Leigh.

And the runners up were The Curlew.

Chris Bailey, quiz master, said it had been an exciting 2015-2016 season.

He said: ‘West Leigh have taken the league title for their second consecutive season with a 13-point margin over their second-place rivals The Curlew.

‘West Leigh achieved their biggest win gap and also came runners-up in the season’s team KO competition.

‘The Curlew achieved their best season yet since joining the league in season 2005, but is was a close contest between them and The Woolpack in Fishbourne.’

The West Leigh team included Kevin Smith, Christine Brown, Alan Brown, Jim Phillips, and Keith Cosslett.

The singles champion was Dave Simnett, of the Woolpack Rangers.

The Team KO Cup Winners were the Bear Hotel, 
with West Leigh coming second.

Mr Bailey added: ‘I would like to take this opportunity to thank all team players for the warm support and creating one of the best quiz league seasons to date.’

The new season starts on September 4.
