Havant mayor accepts donation from Tesco towards chosen charities

A SUPERMARKET has backed a mayor in her bid to raise money for three charities.

Tesco Extra in Havant presented the Mayor of Havant, Councillor Faith Ponsonby, with a cheque for £1500, which will be shared between the mayor’s causes.

Part of the donation will go towards Sands, a charity providing support for bereaved parents and their families.

Off The Record, which supports young people in the area, will also benefit from the gift, as well as the Big Build Appeal for St Faith’s Parish.

Cllr Ponsonby thanked store manager Matt Puryer and staff at Tesco Extra for the ‘generous’ donation.

‘I am hoping to raise as much money as possible for these three charities over the 12 months and £1500 is a great boost to the fund.’
