Havant MP encourages residents to have their say on local plan

RESIDENTS have been urged by their MP to take the '˜chance to shape the future locally' and join the public consultation on their local plan.

Havant MP Alan Mak is encouraging both individuals and community groups to have their say on the borough council’s local plan, which outlines housing allocations and planning policy in the borough or the next 20 years.

While MPs have no role in the plan’s development, Mr Mak says that he is monitoring its progress.

He said: ‘Our area’s growing economy and local residents certainly need more housing, especially to allow first-time buyers, growing families and social tenants to access the housing market.’

The public consultation on the local plan runs until September 9. For more information, go to havant.gov.uk/localplan
