Simon Muggleton is a member of the Orders and Medals Research Society and investigates medals awarded to aircrew in the Second World War.

He is researching the career of a navigator with 97 (Pathfinder) Squadron. Flight Sergeant James Thomas Bundle DFM, (born in Portsmouth in September 1921) lived at 19, Mablethorpe Road, Wymering. He attended Northern Secondary School.

He was killed in action with the rest of his crew over Hanover, shot down in Lancaster JB220 on the night of October 18, 1943. The crew now lie in Becklingen War Cemetery, Niedersachsen, Germany.
