How are bus services changing over Christmas and New Years?

Here is your guide to changes to bus services in the Portsmouth area over the next few weeks.

Christmas Eve- The 1, E1/E2, 2, 3, X5, 7, 8 and 17/18 routes will be operating an early run-in timetable. The X4, 9, X9, 10, 11, 13/14, 15, 20, 21/21A, 22, 27, 28/28A and W1 routes will be running a normal Saturday service and the 16 and 19/19A will not be operating.

Christmas Day- No services will be operating.

Boxing Day- Only the 1, E1/E2, 2, 3 and 7 will be running, offering a special daytime service between 8am and 7pm.

December 27- The 1, E1/E2, 2, 3, X5, 7, 8, 9, 13/14, 16, 17/18 and 22 routes will be offering a Sunday service. The X9, 10, 11, 15, 19/19A, 20, 21/21A, 27, 28/28A and W1 will not be running.

December 28-30- A Monday to Friday timetables will be available on the 19/19A, 20, 21/21A and 28/28A services. Saturday timetables will be offered by the 1, E1/E2, 2, 3, X5, 7, 8, 9, X9, 10, 11, 13/14, 15, 17/18, 22 and 27. The 16 and W1 routes will not be operating across these days.

New Year’s Eve- There will be Saturday timetables on the majority of the routes. The services offering an early run-in service are 1, E1/E2, 2, 3, X5, 7, 8 and 17/18. The 16 and 19/19A services not running on New Year’s Eve.

New Year’s Day- Most services will not be running. The 1, E1/E2, 2, 3 and 7 will be offering a special daytime service between 8am and 7pm.

January 2- Sunday services will be in place on the 1, E1/E2, 2, 3, X5, 7, 8, 9, 13/14, 16 and 17/18 routes. The services that will not be in operation on this day are X9, 10, 11, 15, 19/19A, 20, 21/21A, 22, 27, 28/28A and W1.

The 7A/7C service will not be operating over the festive period. Normal service will be resumed on January 3 across all First routes in the area.

Christmas Day- No services will run and special timetables will operate on some services on Boxing Day, details of which are not yet confirmed.

December 27- Sunday service will be in operation.

December 28-30- Saturday service will be running.

New Year’s Eve- Normal Saturday service will operate, with early finishes around 8pm, excluding Falcon services.

New Year’s Day- There will be no services except for Sunday service on Falcon buses.

January 2- Sunday service in operation with a normal Monday - Friday school term service starting again on Tuesday January 3.
