Hundreds raised at the opera in support of donkeys

HUNDREDS of pounds was raised for a donkey sanctuary following an audition.

Two donkeys joined the cast of the opera Carmen at the Kings Theatre in Southsea.

Ollie and Rusty, who are owned by Paul and Tracy Hunt from Hayling Island, were both chosen.

After the opera, there was a collection and £267.61 was raised.

Sandra Smith, from the Kings Theatre, said: ‘We would like to say thank you to all who donated.’
