Every day, communities across Hampshire must say their final farewells to family members, friends, colleagues, neighbours and many other characters who have played a unique part in local life. Some may be more well known than others, but all had a special place in someone’s heart and in our city and surrounding area.

9. Gregory McCornish
In loving memory of a cherished husband to Nusye and devoted father to Tiara and Angelique. He passed peacefully on 13th May, aged 56, leaving behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and quiet strength. Funeral at Portchester Crematorium on Friday 20th June at 12:15pm. All who knew and loved him are warmly invited. A gifted softball player and pitcher and teammate for over 30 years. He mentored generations through the game he loved. To honour him, his team hope to purchase memorial jerseys and they need support. 10. Stephen Childs
Passed away peacefully on 19th May aged 73. A Good Friend and much loved Uncle. He will be very sadly missed by all of his family and many friends. The Funeral service will be held at Kingston Chapel on Monday 23rd June at 1:00pm followed by burial at Kingston Cemetery at 1:30pm. 11. Joseph (Joe) Cyril Sweeney
Sadly passed away on 27th May 2025, aged 94 Years. The funeral service will take place at Portchester Crematorium on Friday 27th June 2025 at 9.00am. Passed away peacefully on 3rd June, aged 67. Much loved and greatly missed by all his family and friends.
