I fled the nest, but I am happy to be back to roost

We’ve been staying there this past week as we’re currently homeless, having sold our house.

We decided to house-sit before going to my aunt’s next week.

My mum’s house is so warm and cosy; just like I remember it from when I was young and before I fled the nest to live with Matt all those years ago.

There’s something about a house that has a mother in it – she has everything you could ever need or want lurking somewhere in the cupboards.

I actually look forward to going home at the end of the day and putting my feet up on her recliner sofas (they lounge all the way back!) and dipping into the biscuit barrel.

I have to say as much as I’m looking forward to my mum coming home and I am – I’ve missed her terribly – I will reluctantly give her bedroom back.

It’s been just over a week since we left our house and I did get rather tearful for the first few days – I felt like I had betrayed our home, but I’m starting to feel better about it now; as Matt keeps trying to tell me, I need to ‘man up’ and so I will try!

On another positive note, I met a couple of fellow Kingstons on Wednesday in Asda.

A lovely lady approached me and asked ‘Are you Cheryl from the paper?’ – to which I naturally replied ‘Yes’.

I have to admit, I did kind of wish that I had looked slightly better than I did
at that make-up-free, end-of-the-day,
stage.

She said ‘I’m Carol – another Kingston’ and we stood there in aisle five of Asda in Leigh Park and nattered with her husband Robert about how large the Kingston family really is.

And I tell you what – this incident proved just that!

Nice to meet more Kingstons
and thanks guys for reading my
column.

I’m not vlogging but here’s a YouTube recommendation...

In our current state of being a non-home owner, our belongings (16 years worth) are all over the show, which means, other than the three suitcases we’re living out of, things are all over the place and some are in storage, some at my aunt’s, some at mums and some are in the boot of our cars.

This means I’ve been unable to vlog this week and more than likely next week because my computer is at my aunt’s and I just can’t do it, but I’ll be back in a couple of weeks!

I do love YouTube though and if anyone has a spare five minutes I recommend YouTubing Melissa McCarthy and Jimmy Fallon’s lip sync battle which is hilarious. She looks amazing having lost a few pounds and is absolutely giving her all and needless to say there’s a clear winner!

Is Cheryl a real pop star or just fodder for the papers?

So apparently Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has quit The X Factor this year to focus on being a pop star.

It’s weird – when I read this article I found it rather strange that she referred to herself as being a pop star – I know she was, but I guess when other work commitments and your personal life becomes daily tabloid fodder, you actually forget their real ‘talent’ – not that I actually think Cheryl was ever a really amazing pop star; if anything she is a very talented dancer, but singer…well not so much. She’s constantly in the papers for all the wrong reasons – her divorce, her budding relationship with One Directioner Liam Payne and of course her ‘turbulent’ friendship with Simon Cowell – it all becomes a bit of a blur in the end!
