Off the Fence by Havant MP Alan Mak - Reverse the removal of Winter Fuel Payment

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Labour Government's decision to remove the Winter Fuel Payment from 10 million pensioners is a cruel political choice.

This targeting of the elderly is totally unacceptable and will leave many struggling to pay heating bills when the cold weather comes. That's why I've written to Chancellor Rachel Reeves urging her to reverse the removal of the Winter Fuel Payment in the budget on October 30.

It's also why I'll vote against the Labour Government's plan at every opportunity in Parliament and why I've organised a petition. I've been out and about in the Constituency and the overwhelming feeling on the doorstep is that removing the Winter Fuel Payment is unfairly punishing pensioners.
