The pollutant began appearing across
the western part of the county just days after it appeared on beaches in Kent and Sussex.

Small amounts started washing up on the shore at Hill Head, Fareham, yesterday afternoon. The amount of paraffin is said to be very low with just a few bags of the material collected so far.

Hampshire County Council’s waste contractor, Veolia, is disposing of the paraffin.
