Parents warned over Fortnite scams targeting players bank details
The game, which is free to play on consoles and mobile, is hugely popular with children.Â
And like scams involving iPhones and Netflix accounts, the scammers are using authentic looking websites to try and get their victims bank details and personal information.Â

Hide AdIn a new report security firm ZeroFox discovered that 4,770 live domains are dedicated to Fornite scams.
With the scams based around the game's virtual currency called V-Bucks '“Â which allows players to buy items and battle passes for the game.Â
The scammers are setting up realistic looking websites offering fake coupons or '˜V-Buck generations' in exchange for credit card/ bank details and personal information.Â
Zack Allen, director of threat operations at ZeroFox, told WIRED: '˜The biggest thing that surprised us was the professionalism that went into some of these websites, where they would design some of these V-Bucks sites with a lot of skill.'Â
ZeroFox found that the scams were coordinated and often linked from one social media website to another.Â
