In total, £865 was raised for the Naomi House children’s hospice and The Rocky Appeal. Her daughter Valerie Long, 63, made three cakes with angels on them.

Joyce said: ‘Everyone enjoyed themselves. There were more than 100 people there.

‘It was absolutely brilliant. We made £865, half of that goes to Naomi House and half to the Rocky Appeal.

‘My daughter gives me a birthday party every other year in case I’m not here.’

Activities included guessing the weight of a cake supplied by Tesco in Port Solent and guessing the name of a soft toy dog.

Joyce added she was thankful for the donations from all, including Iceland and Tesco branches in Portsmouth.
