1. Rob Hayles
Born in Portsmouth, he is a former track and road racing cyclist. He won a silver medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens in the team pursuit and also won gold in the same event at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

2. Tony Oakey
This Portsmouth-born boxer had 29 professional boxing wins, six loses and one draw. He won the Prizefighter Contest in February 2009.

3. Alan Pascoe
Born in Portsmouth, he was an Olympic medal winning athlete. He took home silver in the 4x400m relay at the Munich Olympics in 1972, he also won gold in hurdles and relay at the European Championships in 1974.

4. Sir Alec Rose
Between 1967 and 1968, Sir Alec single-handedly circumnavigated the globe in his boat Lively Lady. He has a pub in Port Solent named after him as well as a road in the city.
