Air ambulance and police called to 'medical emergency' in Southsea

AN air ambulance landed following a ‘medical emergency’ in Southsea last night.

Police and paramedics were also called to the scene at around 9.40pm on Thursday.

A video taken by Carrie Knightingale from across Southsea Common showed the heavy emergency service presence in the area yesterday evening.

South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) have said that it was due to a ‘medical emergency’.

A spokeswoman explained: ‘We were called last night at 21:41 to an address in Southsea and we sent to the scene a paramedic in a response car, an ambulance crew and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

‘This was a medical emergency and therefore is not something that we can comment on further.’

The News has contacted Hampshire Constabulary for further information about the incident in Southsea.
