Airbnb bans guest after police bust party in Portsmouth and fine 19 people

BOSSES at lodging website Airbnb have banned a person after they staged an ‘outrageous’ party which breached lockdown rules.

A total of 19 people were fined by police who broke up the party – and one man had to be rescued from a roof after he tried to escape officers.

Now Airbmb has slammed the person responsible for staging the gathering and have banned from using the platform.

In a statement to The News today, a spokesman for Airbnb said: ‘We have zero tolerance for this type of behaviour, have suspended the guest from the platform and stand ready to assist the police. We recently implemented a crackdown on unauthorised gatherings, including removing or suspending over 800 UK listings.

‘We will take steps against anyone who violates our strict policies, up to legal action.’
