Garsons in Fontley Road played host to owls, hawks and even a Kookaburra named Kookie, with visitors being able to hold some of the birds under the watchful eye of falconer Alan Greenhalgh.

Assistant manager Lauren Bennett said: '˜The birds of prey caused quite a stir in the garden centre.

'˜It was a privilege for people to be able to hold these wonderful creatures and learn more about them from the very knowledgeable Alan.'
