Boy, 12, hit by car outside Hayling College

A BOY has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car outside a school.

The incident happened at around 8.15am today near Hayling College in Church Road, Hayling Island.

Paramedics were called to the scene and the 12-year-old has since been taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.

A spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance Service said: ‘We were called at 08:14 this morning to a child who was hit by a car.

‘We sent to the scene one ambulance crew who were assessing and treating one patient for minor injuries.

‘Following treatment at the scene the patient was taken onto Queen Alexandra Hospital.’

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary added: ‘We were called at 8.22am to a report of a collision involving a car and 12-year-old boy in Church Road, Hayling Island. The boy suffered minor injuries.’

The News has approached Hayling College for comment.
