BT and Virgin Media internet down in Portsmouth and Hampshire

Sky broadband and talk are down in Portsmouth and the surrounding towns following an issue with a ‘fibre-cable break’.

Now customers of other companies are also reporting outages, according to down detector.

The website shows that BT customers have been hit in Portsmouth, Southampton and Winchester.

Virgin Media customers in Southampton and the surrounding areas have also been hit by outages.

On Twitter the company wrote: ‘We are aware of an issue affecting services for customers in Southampton and some surrounding areas. We are working to fix the issue as quickly as possible.’
