Lauren Steadman, who still lives in the area, will be put through her paces when she is enrolled in the next series of the hit Channel 4 show Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.
The 27-year-old sports star will be among the celebrities pushed to endure gruelling armed forces-style challenges presented by the show’s chief instructor, Portsmouth-born Ant Middleton – a former British soldier.

Hide AdMr Middleton has promised the hopefuls the ‘shock of their lives’ when the show returns to television screens across the country in the near future.
He said: ‘If these celebrities turn up with an ego, they won't last 24 hours.
‘There are no short cuts, there are no easy options.
‘They think they know what's coming but trust me, they are going to get the absolute shock of their lives.’
Other celebrities set to take part have been announced as Katie Price, Anthea Turner, Brendan Cole, reality star Joey Essex, TV presenter Helen Skelton, former Wimbledon footballer John Fashanu, Hollyoaks actress Nikki Sanderson, YouTube star Jack Maynard, Rudimental DJ, Radio 1Xtra DJ Yasmin Evans and former boxing champion Tony Bellew.

Hide AdMs Steadman was in Portsmouth in March to launch a new assessment, treatment and rehabilitation premises for Portsmouth’s Up and Running Sports Injury Treatment Clinic.
The Peterborough-born athlete has competed in three Summer Paralympics in swimming, in Beijing in 2008 and London in 2012, and a paratriathlon in Brazil in 2016. She is a member of Portsmouth Northsea Swimming Club and City of Portsmouth Athletics Club.
Her efforts in South America earned her a silver medal in the women’s PT4 at Fort Copacabana.
The challenges Ms Steadman will face on the show are set to take part on Scotland’s rugged west coast and will reveal whether she has what it takes to pass SAS selection.
