Cosham firefighters tackle moped fire outside Mountbatten Centre

FIREFIGHTERS from Cosham were called out to what is believed to have been a stolen moped which had been set on fire.

One crew was sent to extinguish the fire after receiving a call just after 7pm.

A firefighter who attended the incident said: ‘The moped was at the back of the Mountbatten Centre. Staff were alerted to the fire after smoke started to enter the building through one of the air vents.’

The matter has been passed to the police.
