Crash in Cosham sees fire crews free woman from written-off Mini Cooper

FIRE crews have freed a female driver from her Mini Cooper following a two car collision in Cosham tonight.

Three crews from Cosham fire station attended the scene in Mansvid Avenue from 9pm to 10pm.

It is believed that a car exiting a junction along the avenue collided with the Mini Cooper and caused it to spin across the road, according to firefighter Jacob Orr.

Firefighter Orr said: ‘We extricated the female driver of the Mini Cooper and she was handed the South Central Ambulance Service. Police were also there at the scene. The other car was taken from the scene while we attended to the Mini Cooper.’

The Mini endured severe damage along the driver’s side, and the woman is believe to have suffered injuries to her neck, according to the firefighter.

Police also attended the scene, closing the road for more than an hour.
