The couple – who are both residents at Denmead Grange care home – had to celebrate their diamond anniversary via Skype due to current restrictions.

General manager, Sharon Hare, says: ‘We have had such a lovely day celebrating Cynthia and Mac’s anniversary. It’s so wonderful to see two people still very much in love after all these years!’

They married on June 18, 1960, and spent the early part of their lives together travelling the world with Mac’s job in the RAF. Malta, Singapore, Germany and Italy were just a few places they set up home. Nine years after they tied the knot, they had their son Paul.

The McLennans finally settled in France in 2001 with their beloved golden retriever, where they stayed until March this year, until they moved to Denmead Grange care home.
