Disney Plus: UK release date, cost, pre-order, can you download, what is available, original series on offer and all you need to know

DISNEY have confirmed when its much anticipated streaming service will launch in the UK.

The entertainment giant’s new platform will be home to original content, films and other series from studios including Disney, Pixar and Marvel as well as the Star Wars universe.

Following its launch in the U.S. in November, it is set to arrive in the UK next month.

When does Disney Plus launch in the UK?

The streaming platform from the House of Mouse will launch in our country on Tuesday, March 24 – just under a week from now.

Where else is it available from that day?

The service will also go live in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria and Switzerland on March 24.

How much does it cost?

Disney Plus will cost £5.99 for a monthly subscription, or £59.99 to sign up for a year.

However you can pre-order it to save £10 a year – meaning it costs £49.99 for 12 months.

You have until March 23 to pre-order and save yourself £10 for the first year.

What is available on Disney Plus?

Disney Plus will be the exclusive streaming location for films released by the Walt Disney Studios from 2020, the company said.

This includes all Disney, Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars movies going forward.

National Geographic is also part of the library available on Disney Plus.

Disney say that there will be over 1000 movies, series, Originals and more from the 5 wonderful worlds of Disney+.

There will be 600 episodes of The Simpsons available on launch as well.

What original series and movies will it have on launch?

The critically acclaimed Star Wars series The Mandalorian will be available on launch – following its release in the U.S. last year.

The first season is streaming now – and a second series is due out in October 2020.

Star Wars fans will also be able to catch the new final season of the animated Clone Wars series, which has started to air on Disney Plus.

Other originals available on launch include:

- the remake of Disney’s Lady and the Tramp

- High School Musical The Musical the Series

- Marvel’s Hero Project

- The World According to Jeff Goldblum

- Encore!

- Float

- One Day at Disney

What other series are coming?

The first two original Marvel series will be launching on Disney Plus in 2020.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is due to arrive in August while WandaVision will debut in December.

Other shows slated for release in 2020 include The Mandalorian season 2, Love, Simon and Monsters at Work – based on Pixar’s Monster Inc.
