Families flocked to the opening weekend of the Portsmouth Pumpkin Patch as they were entertained at the free event.
Having opened on Saturday, October 17 at 32 Acres Pavilion in Farlington, young and old enjoyed fair ground, food and entertainment. Sunday saw a bumper day of entertainment with a fire show, stilt walkers and of course even more pumpkins for people to pick up.
The News joined the festivities to capture families enjoying the spooky shenanigans on display.
Speaking ahead of the opening, John Matthews, of Carnival Funfairs, said: “We have put a lot of effort in, a lot of infrastructure, a lot of pumpkins. I wouldn’t like to count but we have a lot with sizes including extra large, large, medium and small, and munchkin small ones. Roughly I would say we have around 3,000 pumpkins in the field.
“There is lots of stuff to do, come on down and support this new event.”
Portsmouth Pumpkin Patch is returning on Saturday, October 24.
