Firefighters called as fire breaks out in Portsmouth house

FIREFIGHTERS have been called out to a house fire in Portsmouth this morning.

Crews have been spotted at a property in Torrington Road, Copnor, after a fire broke out inside.

Eyewitnesses on the scene say an elderly woman was rescued from the home.

A spokeswoman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘Our crews have only recently arrived on the scene, so we don't have much information yet.

‘We can confirm that there is an incident ongoing.’
