Funeral arrangements set for murdered Havant teen Louise Smith

THE funeral of a teenager found murdered in Havant last month will be taking place next week.

Louise Smith, 16, disappeared on May 8, prompting a massive police search.

Her body was found at Havant Thicket on May 21, and Shane Mays of Somborne Drive, Leigh Park, will provisionally stand trial for her murder on November 10.

But on Friday, July 10, Louise’s funeral will be taking place.

The teenager will be laid to rest at The Oaks Crematorium in Bartons Road, Havant, at 10am.

Her funeral is strictly for family members only, but members of the public will also have the opportunity to pay their respects to the murdered teen.

The funeral procession will go from High Lawn Way in Leigh Park along to Middle Park Way, then towards Petersfield Road and past Havant Academy.

Louise’s family has asked people to stand there if they wish to pay their respects, while respecting social distancing guidelines.
