Gosport girl Enola Todd will be busting her best moves for this charity effort - despite having scoliosis and missing three ribs and a kidney.

The determined nine-year-old, who never lets anything get in her way, has always dreamed of working with animals and was upset when she heard about the recent break-in at Marwell Zoo.

Enola, who received a Marwell annual pass for Christmas, said: ‘I was sad to hear that people had tried to hurt the animals so I wanted to do something to help.

Enola will be joined by mum Caroline and dad Chris throughout the danceathon, which will be held on March 20 and will be live streamed to friends and family.

Enola, whose favourite animal is a panda, added: ‘I think I will enjoy it as I love dancing. I might get tired but mummy and daddy will help.’

Caroline and Chris run Synchronize Hip-Hop School in Gosport, so Enola has grown up surrounded by dance and was inspired by a previous dance challenge held by her parents.

Caroline said: ‘She’s a really beautiful girl inside and out, she’s a genuinely nice girl.

‘She’s animal mad, she talks about them, she draws them. For Christmas she asked for a real life panda, so Santa helped her adopt one.

‘We opened the school when Enola was only six months old so dancing has always been a big part of her life.

‘The dance school is always such a lovely place to be but as you can imagine it's been sad not being open during the pandemic.

‘We can't wait to see it back up and running and welcoming new and existing pupils.’

Enola, who recently received a Blue Peter badge for her efforts to stop littering, has already beaten her £250 target and hopes to raise as much as possible to help the animals.
