Pippa-Jo Marsden, 38, from Gosport, has shared a video online of her singing George Michael’s Faith.

But the mum-of-four has switched out some of the lyrics to give them a coronavirus twist, singing about how she ‘can’t touch anybody, unless they live with me’ and urging people to ‘just stay home, I know it’s a bummer’.

Pippa-Jo said: ‘I’m all about giving people hope and looking at the bright side of life – I like music and singing so the idea just popped into my head.

‘I absolutely love George Michael anyways and the song being about having faith really inspired me to try and make people feel good.’

Pippa-Jo, who is a care worker for Fareham-based Aim Home Care, came up with the lyrics in the space of around half an hour.

From there, she got a wig to try and look the same as George Michael did in the 1980s.

‘I had the wig lying around so just chopped it up a bit,’ she said.

‘Then I put the lyrics onto my laptop and just belted it out in one take.

‘It’s taken my aback to see how well it’s done because I really didn’t expect it to go as far as it has.

‘Not only is it really cool, but I’m glad I’ve been able to put a smile on so many people’s faces.’

According to Pippa-Jo, friends, co-workers and family members have now been singing her rendition of the 1987 hit single, which she finds ‘very funny'.

Now a second song is apparently in the works, with her and a friend singing Especially For You by Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue.

Pippa-Jo said: ‘I’m really passionate about mental health so if the song has made people laugh, then it’s been a success in my eyes.’
