Gosport man in his 50s found dead by firefighters after ambulance call

THE body of a man in his 50s was discovered in a Gosport flat last night.

An ambulance team responded to a call concerned about the occupier of the address in Forton Road after 9pm last night.

A crew from Gosport fire station arrived to gain entry to the property where the man’s body was discovered.

The fire crew remained at the scene until 11.05pm, with police taking charge of the incident.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: ‘We were called to an address in Forton Road around 10.30pm last night, January 13, where the body of a man in his 50s was found.

‘The man's next of kin have been informed.

‘A file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.’
