Gosport walking group starts back up to get people active and socialising around the town
Gosport Walking for Health project took its first steps to recovery in July, restarting with some shorter walks for small groups.
The project has now been given the go-ahead to increase the numbers of people on each walk, but walkers are still being asked to pre-book their places.

There is also a monthly Sunday walk restarting on August 30 and there are plans to restart three additional walks from September.
Emma Kemp, project leader, said: ‘One of our regular walkers told us they had missed the walks so much when they were put on hold back in March. They especially missed the chats and catching up with friends.
‘This is a big part of Gosport Walking for Health - a chance to talk and make new friends, as well as keeping active. We hope to see you on a walk soon!’

Hide AdWalks vary in length from 30 to 45 minutes, to walks from 45 minutes up to an hour, and those which can be up to 90 minutes in length.
Places are currently limited, but there are plenty of spaces available. When you book you will need to give your name, contact number and confirm that you have walked with the group before or complete a new walker registration form.
When you attend a walk, social distancing must be adhered to and all walkers are encouraged to bring their own hand sanitiser and a drink. If you or a member of your household is displaying symptoms of Covid-19 you must not attend the walks.
