The Great South Run held its ‘Super Saturday’ on October 19 as young participants took part in the Juniors (age 9-15) and Minis (ages 3-8) as crowds cheered them on. This years theme was ‘finding your superhero’ with many children and adults dressing up as their favourite superheroes.
The children proved more than worthy of the superhero tag as they tackled the course, some with adults in tow, in inspirational scenes.
For the Juniors there was more of a serious tone as they stood focussed at the start line. Hundreds competed, some to win, some to just get to the finish line. With Sunday cancelled it proved to be the final actions of this year’s event.
While many will be disappointed not to run tomorrow, this year the kids were the stars.
