Grieving daughter's plea to find necklace with dad's ashes lost in Southsea

Distraught Amy O’Keeffe spent Monday, July 20 in Southsea visiting the Rose Garden and the South Parade Pier area.

But she was devastated when she noticed she had lost the silver necklace she made after her dad died two years ago.

The tweet has been shared thousands of times including by broadcaster musician Reverend Richard Coles and broadcaster and BBC Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine, who shared the appeal and said: ‘Hope you find it, Amy.’

Amy tweeted: ‘I lost my necklace containing my dad’s ashes in Southsea, Rose Garden, pier area on Monday.

‘Devastated doesn't come close! Desperate to find it. Please, please retweet, I don't have many followers?’

Amy posted the plea at around 10.23am today and by 9.30pm tonight it has received more than 16,500 retweets.

This afternoon she responded to hundreds of messages of support and said: ‘I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and support!

‘I’m at work at the moment so can’t reply to all but I can't tell you how touched I am!

‘My dad would think this is amazing!’

Asked on Twitter if she had found the necklace yet, she said: ‘Not yet but quite emotional about how many retweets this has had! I've only got 32 followers!’
