FIRE fighters from across the area have been tackling a blaze at an electricity substation in Warsash.

Fire crews reported ‘seeing large volumes of black smoke’ and have said the cause of the fire involved an electrical cable.

Crews from Fareham, Hightown, Cosham and Portchester were all mobilised to the scene at Chilling Lane after receiving a call at 8.27am (June 24).

While most fire crews have now left, one appliance from Fareham is still there.
