Hampshire firefighters tackle 28 hectare Hambledon field fire

FIRE crews from across Hampshire are currently attending a 28 hectare field fire in Hambledon.

Four fire appliances and five support vehicles have been sent to the incident with firefighters from Wickham, Cosham, Bishop’s Waltham, Portchester, Havant and Fareham tackling the blaze.

A statement from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘There was a caravan alight which has spread to nearby stubble. The fire is currently involving approximately 28 hectares and firefighting is in progress. This is on Green Lane, in Hambledon, and the time of call was 1.38pm.’
